Finally, Some Good Environmental News--A Species Saved From Extinction!

The Western Blacklegged Tick----Saved From The Brink!

 --Ixodes pacificus--
Going strong again, now, Thanks to a massive effort
by scientists and Citizens' groups.

Fragile baby in peril

Just a few years ago, things looked bleak for the once-common
Western Blacklegged Tick.
As a consequence of varying forms of pollution in the environment, climate-change, and out-of-control development, the species had been diminishing for many years, until specimens were becoming disturbingly hard to find.

A young Ixodes struggles to feed and survive, in a hostile world.

Scientists noticed this crisis as more and more hunters, outdoorsmen, hikers, campers and backpackers began lodging concern that this unique species, found only in the far western US, was no longer being sighted at all  in many areas where it was once unbiquitous.

Hunter/fisherman Leroy Bludebank testifies:
"I've been hiking, fishing and hunting in these forests [in the Sierra Nevada] since I was a kid. Back then, these little guys were all over the place. But things reached a point where I hadn't seen one in years. I figured it must be the end of an era. How sad is that?"

"So many things we grew up with out in nature are being lost forever.
What can we do?"
Leroy Bludebank, outdoorsman

But soon, an alliance of outdoors enthusiasts, environmental groups
and scientists began to focus on the problem.
It started with bake sales, school assemblies, local town meetings, and led to several major conferences of scientists at different western Universities. Finally, a program
for restoration of the species was established.
University Scientists worked countless hours without pay
to study the best solutions to the crisis.

Entymologists and biochemists worked together for a clearer understanding
of the nutrient problems that have been identified
as a key factor in the near-disappearance of this species.

Local Sierra Nevada community and environmental groups volunteered their time to provide thousands of hours of hard work out in the field to replenish
the population of the tiny, threatened creatures.

The  Sierra Tick-Tockers----Just one of the many citizens groups that coalesced
in order to solve the problem

Volunteers were happy to sacrifice just a few drops of blood to help restore the vibrancy of the species. It was discovered that the critters re-gained health and strength better on the children's blood than the adults. Entire families contributed their fluids, but it was the kids who helped the most, after being informed the blood needed would be little more than most typical blood samples taken in an average physical exam.

The kids were glad to help out, and their contributions were considerable

Happy to give.
Andy Montez, 7, donates blood to feed young weakling
ticks in the Tick Rehab lab set up by organizers.

The Tick-Tockers  collect weak specimens for conditioning in the lab.
Meanwhile, the few relatively strong individuals they can find,
they nourish with their own bodily fluids
to strengthen the tiny Arachnids.
The little creatures are then left in the forest
to fend for themselves.

After years of consolidated effort by many determined groups, The Western Blacklegged Tick is gaining in numbers again, and now seems out of danger of extinction.

If you ever have the pleasure to hike in the Sierra Nevada area of California next to western Nevada, you just might be lucky enough to see a Western Blacklegged Tick, when you discover one or more of the little wanderers has decided to accompany you on your hike,
fishing trip or hunting day.

If you do, thank the citizens and scientist-volunteers who made it possible.

In a world with many environmental challenges and problems,
it is reassuring to know
that there are some very real success stories out there.

Meteorologists Suspect Kim Kardashian has been Affecting Cloud Formations and Weather on a Massive Scale

IS  KIM KARDASHIAN  AFFECTING
CLOUD FORMATIONS  AND
GLOBAL  WEATHER  PATTERNS?

Cloud formations such as this have become far more common in recent years,
especially in areas visited by Ms. Kardashian, weather scientists have noted.

Is this a threat?
Meteorologists fear the answer could be, YES.

Dr. Soichiro Nakata of  the Tokyo University Of Science says his findings
strongly suggest a Kardashian connection to recent distortions of
cloud formations and weather patterns around the world, as the problem
                  increasingly rears its ugly head.

The Kardashian connection to these disturbing observable changes in cloud                                   patterns has been buttressed by data recorded in scientific studies worldwide.

Dr. Nils Johansson of  the Swedish Institute Of Science
in Gothenburg has compiled substantial data to verify the ominous
Kardashian-weather-disruption link. "Our findings come not from                                                the rear-guard of weather research, but from the cutting-edge",
                          says Dr. Johansson.

With climate-change already a worldwide concern, does this newly-discovered Kardashian influence on cloud patterns add to the threat?

Scientists in seats of science around the world are unclear on this point,
but say they are  not near the end
of their research, and have never resorted
to being cheeky about their findings.

Day-by-day, leading scientists feel they are cracking the code of

this worldwide riddle, and feel they will eventually reach the bottom
of the mystery, and this enigma will be breeched.

The Cause?

At this time, there has been no official statement from
Kim, or any members of the Kardashian family
           regarding this issue.

Menu Items in Official US Senate Dining Room manipulated by Putin and Russia

RUSSIAN MANIPULATION PENETRATES US SENATE DINING FACILITY AND DIRECTLY AFFECTS FUNCTIONING OF US GOVERNMENT!

Traditionally,  the US Senate Dining Room in Washington was recognized as both a
"safe spot" and a "happy place" for Senators hard at work on The Peoples' Business.
                                                             But no more.

According to emphatic reports by US Intelligence insiders, Putin's Operatives have successfully hacked into the US Government's Senate Dining Room Menu, in an apparent effort to control the dietary choices of elected US Government Officials and negatively affect the operation of the
US Senate.

A number of deliberate, sabotage-like dietary actions were directed by Russian operatives, before the current attack was discovered and terminated by alert US agents.

The Senate has just returned to the same menu as before, with all of the aggressive Russian
"menu-attacks" now neutralized

"I began to suspect something was amiss when they took the marinated chicken salad off the menu", said a Senator who declined to be named. "It was by far the healthiest item on the menu, and I personally know several senators who have been able to lose weight and improve their overall health by having that salad daily", he insisted. "When it went off the menu, Senators were just giving in
to temptation and ordering The Steak And 4-Cheese-Omelet & Sausage Special, which had mysteriously appeared, and had incredible levels of calories and cholesterol in it."
The rogue item has since been removed from the menu, and the old Senate Menu has been re-instated, with help from Intelligence Agencies.

Senators and Lobbyists hard at work while enjoying dinner.
But WHO is deciding the menu?
                                                                   The Kremlin?

US Senators have long depended on the Senate Dining Room to help them maintain their health and energy levels needed for the grueling job of serving The Public.

Another Senator (who declined to give his name) claimed, "I have experienced this direct nutritional attack on American Representative Government. My meetings with important corporate lobbyists were being disrupted by, uh, well, let's just say, embarrassing digestive effects of some of these [Russian-sabotaged] menu items."

Mysteriously replacing the regular beans in the Famous Senate Bean Soup, were a strain of extremely flatulence-causing beans, substituted by Russian hackers who had penetrated the Dining Room's computer system and kitchen-supply/food-procurement orders. The severe flatulence caused a number of important Senate meetings to be shortened, or even cancelled entirely.

The Famous Senate Bean Soup, a sacred American culinary tradition, sabotaged
by Putin's order-------An act of WAR?

"Around the time of the horrific Syrian gas attack last year, most people don't know that the US Senate was also under a gas attack of its own", said a 3rd Senator, who also declined to be named. "And I heard the chili was even worse", added the Senator. The beans have been changed back to the old non-flatulent beans, and chili has been dropped from the menu, along with another item, that should have been a tipoff. "When that Borscht suddenly appeared on the menu last year, I should have suspected something", the Senator insisted. "But it was so good, I just let it slide".

Borscht on the Menu ----
Should that have been a red flag?

Saving the day----Inspectors at the CIA Lab verifying the purity and safety of produce
to be used at the Senate Dining Room.

A 4th Senator, who asked that her name not be given, said the attacks have not left anyone intimidated, and in her case have actually hardened her resolve: "This tells me we are going to really need that new generation of high-tech micro-nukes and other state-of-the-art weaponry to counter the Russian threat. Forget the cost. If the Russians can attack our food, we're going to have the capability to hit back, and hard."  Putin is going to regret this".

New Study Indicates PRE-SHOOTING May Be The Answer to Youth Gun Violence

Everybody agrees on 1 thing: Tragedies like the Stoneman HS shooting
in Florida must be eliminated, if possible

Now, there may be an answer.

Is the concept of PRE-SHOOTING Teens a better solution to Youth Gun Violence than
Restrictive New Gun Laws?

A new study by Azmodus University Indicates
"Pre-Shooting" may be The Answer.

In the new study, 47 teenagers gave permission to be "pre-shot" in the arm by a .22 Caliber handgun, in order to study their feelings about guns, school shootings, and most importantly, violence as a solution to personal problems.

Afterwards, all 47  students reported they were "far less likely" to be motivated to use a gun as a response to being threatened, rejected/ostracized by peers, or failing an easy class such as Wood Shop. Being shot clearly made a major change in their attitude about firearms.

34 of the students described an increased sense of compassion for victims of violence, and all reported a renewed sense of respect for firearms in general.

Brandon, 16, checks his wound after several days of recovery.

"Firearms are for hunting, target practice and maybe home protection", said 16-year old Brandon Winchester. "Guns are not for solving personal problems, that's for sure. In fact, I may even get my last name changed now".

"It really hurt at first", said 15-year-old Shelley Beret. "But once the pain settled down to just a dull, throbbing ache, I was able to think clearly and see the whole gun-issue in better perspective. Now, I would never use a gun against anyone who wasn't actually attacking me, whereas before ... I don't know".

A simple wound such as this one may be the answer to
youth gun violence.

The Designated Shooter, Veteran Marine Corps Sgt. Mike Walther confessed, "It was hard shooting these innocent kids. But they knew what they signed up for, and the study is really going to do some good for this country, I believe."

Hospitalized student signals all is OK after being shot
in the experimental study.

"I just stood a couple feet to one side, aimed for their arm and fired away. It was all over very quickly, and medical personell were standing by, so I was never really worried anyone would be seriously hurt, unlike out there in the real world, where a bullet can hit anywhere, including vital organs", said Sgt Walther.

"The wound was so small, there is hardly any scar. But I've learned a big lesson, for sure",
reported Tiffany Tirgette. "I used to want an AR15, but now, I think I'll get a violin instead."

"Yeah, it hurt a lot, but it was totally worth it", said 14-year-old Noah Shiloh. Besides, my family can use the money to pay bills and stuff".

Braelyn Rife said the experiment "made me joyful that deep-held attitudes can be moved through simple actions like this. There is real hope for change. I see that now."

Students were payed $10,000 each plus all necessary medical bills for the shootings. None of the children said they would ever want to get shot again, even if they were paid for it. All of the children agreed they now had acquired a more cautious and skeptical attitude about gun use in America, beyond merely depending on new restrictive gun laws to stem the violence.

Kids are all smiles after the experimental study, which was actually quite stressful.

"Not trying to act macho or anything, but it hardly hurt at all, and I learned a lot".
----- Trig Braxton, 18 years old. ----

For safety, only .22 caliber short rounds were used in
                        the experiment.

Could pre-shot students be more enlightened on gun-related issues than regular "un-shot" kids?

Pre-shooting just could be the answer to America's tragic outbreak
of Youth Gun Violence.

                              Are better days ahead?
